The developed slide of this is wonderful. I really need a better scanner.

I’m curious about the interest in the “premium” GX1 and how it compares to my G3.
As far as i can tell, the GX-1 is an update to the GF-1 / GF-2 body style, but with the G3 sensor and internals. That’s the 30,000 foot view of it, anyways.
So, what are the technical differences?
The GX-1 improves on the G3 with:
The G3 boasts these features over the GX-1:
For fans of the GF series, I suspect the GX-1 trumps them all and should be an obvious upgrade.
For me, I could use the level and the better button layout, and I’d love the better grip. I’m not sure it’s worth swapping for, though. I think I’ll try to add some grippy faux-leather stuff to my G3 and call it good.
You can get a great price on either the GX1 or the G3 at Adorama.
I’m not much of a portrait photographer, but this book had me mesmerized last night at the library.

How important is your gear to your craft? If you lost it all and had to start over, would you give up, or would you still work your craft with your cell phone, your compact point ‘n shoot, your grandfather’s speed graphic?
Cool gear is cool, but if your photography is your art and your craft it must come from the heart.
Wow, what an awesome article. http://www.joemcnally.com/blog/2010/02/15/we-just-cant-help-it/
Nomitations to be invited, to be precise. I’ve got 8 23 – first come, first served.
Not exclusively photography-related, but I thought I would throw this out there anyway.

Just a quick note for anyone looking for lenses for Nikon cameras. I’m putting some of mine up for sale. I expect the current economy to make these difficult to sell, but I’m in the same pickle as every one else and can’t just go out and buy the new lens I want without raising some cash.
I might just cry when I sell that 60mm, it’s the sharpest lens I have, the colors, contrast, and bokeh are superb, and it’s great for portraits.
I’m looking to buy or trade for a Nikon 14-24 f/2.8, trades must be mint condition. I’m only selling the 11-16 to get the 14-24 because of the working focal range is closer to what I need, and I hear it’s the sharpest lens in the world. I plan on focusing on landscape photography and this would really be my bread and butter. The 11-16 is a ridiculously awesome lens for those who want to go that wide.
